The MENA Organization for Rare Diseases Annual Meeting will be held in Dubai from 3 to 5 March 2023. This conference will be the largest event for rare disease in the region. MENA, an acronym in the English language, refers to a grouping of countries situated in and around the Middle East and North Africa. The main goal of this conference is to bring all parties involved in rare diseases in one place to exchange knowledge and increase awareness about rare diseases.


MENA Organization for Rare Diseases was established to serve and support people with rare diseases in the region of Middle East and North Africa (MENA). People with rare diseases and their families face many difficulties because of the scarceness of knowledge about these conditions and limited support available for them. The goals of MENA Organization for Rare Diseases are to educate, connect, and support.


First, the organization aims to educate, spread knowledge, and increase awareness about rare diseases. This goal is achieved through organizing scientific conferences, family meetings, social activities, workshops, and training programs. Online tools are also utilized including publishing newsletters, creating educational webpages, and placing posts on social media.


The second aim is to connect people to exchange knowledge about rare diseases. This can be achieved by organizing social events to connect families with rare diseases, creating databases for rare diseases, and establishing platforms to enable online communication.


Third goal is to provide support for individuals with rare diseases and their families through establishing family support groups and facilitating receiving services from laboratories, healthcare facilities, rehabilitation centers, and social organizations.


The MENA Organization for Rare Diseases Annual Meeting will be held in Dubai from 3 to 5 March 2023. This conference will be the largest event for rare disease in the region. Over the course of three days, over 100 speakers will deliver the most updated knowledge in presentations, symposiums, and workshops related to rare diseases. Various clinical fields are involved, including neurology, cardiology, pulmonary, oncology, pediatrics, and genetics. The meeting includes presentations about challenges, achievements, and recent advancements on diagnosis, management, and research related to rare diseases.


In addition to healthcare providers, students, and researchers; individuals with rare disease and their families will participate by attending presentations, workshops, and meetings of families with rare diseases. Laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, clinics and hospitals, academic and community institutions, and several authorities and societies focusing on rare diseases will also participate. The main goal of this conference is to bring all parties involved in rare diseases in one place to exchange knowledge and increase awareness about rare diseases.
