MENA Organization for Rare Diseases receives Appreciation Award at the ICAN Conference

MENA Organization for Rare Diseases participated as a Strategic Partner at the International Conference for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ICAN) that was organized by AutismConnect in Dubai from 28 to 30 April 2023. ICAN was a unique autism conference for parents and professionals at which the latest advancements about autism were discussed. The conference had more than 75 speakers and it was a special opportunity to exchange medical knowledge between professionals and parents to better the care for people with autism.


MENA Organization for Rare Diseases supported ICAN with organization and sharing knowledge and experience related to rare genetic diseases in the MENA region. MENA Organization for Rare Diseases had a booth in the exhibition area and got the opportunity to communicate with participants who have children with autism and rare diseases to hear their stories and understand their needs and challenges. Furthermore, the ICAN gave a unique opportunity for MENA Organization for Rare Diseases to present its activities related to education and spreading knowledge about rare diseases, connecting patients and doctors to exchange knowledge and experience, and supporting people with rare diseases and their families.


During the ICAN Conference, MENA Organization for Rare Diseases received an Appreciation Award to honor the great support and distinguished contribution of the organization in the conference. MENA Organization for Rare Diseases and AutismConnect are looking forward to a long-term collaboration aiming to support people with autism and rare diseases in the region.
